Betty's Vision

By 2028, Betty’s Club will have significantly improved the lives of an estimated 100 local people living with dementia or cognitive decline and their carers/partners.

Combining rigour, creativity and evidence of social good, through our practice, we will be a regional leader in good dementia family care and communication, based on measurable and better relationships within the community.

We will pursue three missions. Each mission is a response to a local generational, societal challenges for families living with dementia, where we believe innovative thinking and action has a part to play in driving wider change.

We have set bold goals for our missions. Of course, we hope that they won’t seem unrealistically ambitious, but will act as guiding principles that lift our members – and our sight.

Mission 1: Access to a meaningful life

We want every person living with dementia to have an equal access to good, meaningful activity in a social setting:

Our mission is to narrow the outcome gap between people living with dementia here and the national average.

Mission 2: A healthy and active life

We want every person with dementia to have a good, healthy, active life for as long as possible, especially those most affected by any existing inequalities. Our mission is to help increase the quality and number of healthy years for a local person with dementia through our support, while narrowing any known health inequalities.

Mission 3: A sustainable life

We want to work collaboratively with the local community to share our understanding that what works best for people living with dementia in the local area, also works best for the common good. Our mission is to accelerate socialising and meaningful connectedness and improve levels of friendship and wellbeing across the community.
