At Betty’s Club, we are busy interviewing members to hear their life stories. However, for a person living with cognitive impairment or dementia who struggles to form words or speak fluently, other ways to communicate are possible – onesuch is through drawing or painting.
Given pencils and paper, most of us will quite naturally explore making marks with them, with little more than some practical guidance and companionship needed. Add connection, awareness and some simple questions and the person might find their own way to tell their story.
