By the end of 2026, we aim to have improved the lives of more than 60 local people living with dementia or cognitive decline and their carers/partners.
Combining rigour, creative approaches and evidence of social good, through our practice, we aim to become a regional leader in good dementia family care and communication, based on enhanced relationships within the community.
We have three missions. Each is a response to a local generational, societal challenges for families living with dementia. We believe that innovative, creative thinking and action has a part to play in driving wider change. These guiding principles can boost our members’ spirits – as well as our own.
We believe that we have much to learn from any person living with dementia, that even if a dementia diagnosis may appear to be a one-way street, it shouldn’t stop anyone having new positive experiences, delight and joy along the way.
Mission 1: Improve wellbeing through meaningful activity
We want every person living with dementia and their family caregivers to have equal access to enjoyable, meaningful activity in a social setting. In so doing, we aim to improve their wellbeing and reduce the stigma associated with dementia.
Mission 2: A healthy and active life in a community of friends
We aim to help our members to have a high quality of life for as long as possible, regardless of any existing inequalities. Our mission is to help deliver that through our support, our relationships and our community.
Mission 3: A sustainable life
We work collaboratively with the local community to share our understanding of what delivers the most for people living with dementia in the local area, for their common good. Our mission is to accelerate worthwhile connectedness for all our members, to improve their access to friendship and provide support to promote their wellbeing.
