Welcome to Betty’s Club

Friendship, Community and Wellbeing

A warm, inclusive members club and sensory garden adjacent to Burnham Market Surgery in Burnham Market, Norfolk, offering meaningful activities and positive support for our members – people with dementia and cognitive impairment and their family carers

Creating a safe space for people and families living with dementia

Through our life story gathering, activities specially chosen by members, carers’ learning workshops and research, we develop relationships with our members so that they can feel more connected and supported and part of a meaningful community.

Evidence shows that our model reduces members’ levels of stress, helps them build new friendships and improves the wellbeing of everyone involved.

A good life means having strong, positive relationships, a sense of purpose and meaning with physical and mental wellbeing.

Even in dementia, good mental wellbeing is possible.

A good life includes staying connected with loved ones, engaging in meaningful activities, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.

Ultimately, a good life with dementia is about adapting and finding joy in the present, while also planning for the future.

At Betty’s Club, members thrive through connection, activity and care

Betty’s Club is a thriving, inclusive community, where members feel valued and everything we do is shaped by their stories, their needs and their preferences.

Whether you are living with dementia, caring for someone who is, or offering your time as a volunteer, you’ll find space here to be yourself and to belong.

Because real care is something we create together.

We offer

  • A welcoming space indoors and outdoors providing opportunities to contribute and connect with other members.
  • Activity sessions chosen by and for our members
  • Emotional, social and practical support and guidance for family carers
  • Volunteer roles with meaningful training and support
